Wednesday, September 9
The Brain Brew Cafe in Sententia World

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. CDT

What if you could transform an idea into a working application without becoming a software developer? AI-powered development tools are making it possible to prototype, test, and refine ideas faster than ever before, and Lovable is leading the way.

Join Gamification Master Craftsman Jazmin Webster for an interactive Build & Brew exploring how Lovable can help learning professionals rapidly build interactive applications, prototypes, and learning experiences using natural language instead of traditional coding. Together, we'll explore practical ways to move from concept to creation, experiment with new ideas, and accelerate the design process.

This isn't a software demonstration or a coding class. It's an open conversation where we'll share ideas, explore possibilities, ask questions, and learn how AI-powered development tools are changing the way we design learning experiences.

Bring your ideas, your current projects, your curiosity, or simply a willingness to experiment. Whether you're completely new to AI-assisted app development or already building with no-code and low-code tools, you'll discover new ways to turn your ideas into reality.

Come see how Lovable can help you spend less time building code and more time building experiences.

Build & Brew with Joshua "Doc" Yavelberg

Wednesday, September 23
The Brain Brew Café in Sententia World
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Central

What happens when gamification gets people to click, complete, collect points, or compete, but fails to create meaningful engagement or change?

Join Gamification Master Craftsman Josh “Doc” Yavelberg for a hands-on design clinic focused on the places gamification can go wrong and, more importantly, what we can do about it.

Bring a gamified experience that fell flat, felt forced, became too complicated, rewarded the wrong behavior, or simply stopped working. Together, we’ll look beyond the symptoms to diagnose what may actually be causing the problem, from motivation and participant needs to feedback, mechanics, measurement, and the environment in which the experience lives.

Then we’ll move from critique to repair.

You’ll explore alternatives to defaulting to points, badges, and leaderboards and consider mechanics such as meaningful choice, mastery, progress, collaboration, exploration, contribution, narrative, and feedback. Promising ideas will be stress-tested for fairness, accessibility, sustainability, administrative burden, and alignment with the behavior or outcome the design was intended to support.

Josh will also bring Tater into the session as a working partner to help capture patterns, organize the group’s thinking, and turn the conversation into a practical design brief.

This is not a presentation about what’s wrong with gamification. It’s a working session for people who want to make it better.

Bring a problem. Pull up a chair. Let’s diagnose it, rethink it, and see if we can repair it.
